Wamena, July 17, 2024 — A spirit of gratitude and joy filled the atmosphere as GIDI Kolose Congregation celebrated its 1st Church Anniversary on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the congregation’s worship building. This celebration was not only a moment of reflection on one year of ministry but also marked the official establishment of the church’s anniversary as an annual agenda, accompanied by a marriage blessing program for members who are spiritually and administratively prepared. The thanksgiving service was led by Rev. Puba Gire, who delivered a message of spiritual encouragement and a call to continue growing under healthy pastoral care. In his sermon, Rev. Gire emphasized that one year is not a small milestone, but the beginning of a long journey that must be lived out with faithfulness and perseverance. "One year is proof of God’s love and care. But it also becomes our responsibility to continue building the church—not just physically, but in faith and service," he said in his sermon. The event was attended by key church figures including the Chairman of Balim Valley Classis, Rev. Minus Wanimbo, S.Th, Classis Advisor Lepinus Tabo, S.Th, Regional Pastor Rev. Zakeus Logo, and deacons from several GIDI congregations within the Balim Valley Classis. A significant moment in the celebration was the marriage blessing for couples who had undergone spiritual formation, as part of the church’s effort to strengthen Christian families and develop orderly ministry practices. Recognizing the importance of service efficiency, the congregation decided that future marriage blessings will be incorporated into the church’s annual anniversary program. This milestone celebration marked not only a year of progress but also a renewed commitment to grow in faith, unity, and service as a thriving body of Christ.
