GIDI Kolose Church Wamena Hands Over the Results of Its Educational Services to the Congregation Wamena

A church worker of GIDI Kolose Wamena hands over the results of educational services to a member of the congregation after the Sunday Worship Service. This activity is part of the congregation’s vision and mission as well as the church’s regular ministry programs. The Chairman of the Deacon Board of GIDI Kolose Wamena, Y. Rudi Gurik, stated that the church is present not only to nurture faith, but also to provide social services to the congregation. “In this digital era with its many impacts, we are concerned about the future of our young people as the next generation of the congregation. Therefore, the church feels it is necessary to conduct literacy education and local language learning programs to preserve faith and local languages as the language of the Bible,” he said. Gurik added that GIDI Kolose Wamena Church continues to strive to make a positive contribution to the community, especially to the congregation, particularly in providing access to education and preserving local languages. “We are determined to open wider access to education for the congregation so that they can read and understand the Word of God independently. This is very important, considering that there are still many congregation members who cannot yet read,” he said with hope.
