First Quarter 2025 Spiritual Seminar: GIDI Kolose New Congregation Establishes God’s Word as the Foundation of Ministry

Wamena, May 16, 2025 — As a newly established congregation, GIDI Kolose continues to demonstrate its commitment to spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of God’s Word. To strengthen its ministry foundation early in the year, GIDI Kolose held a spiritual seminar for the first quarter of 2025, featuring two keynote speakers: Ps. Anton Kossay and Mrs. Ester Yahuli, S.Pd. The seminar carried the theme: “God’s Word: The Source of Spiritual Literacy in Building a Mature and Independent Church”, and was held at the temporary place of worship of the Kolose congregation. It was attended by church servants and members from all walks of life, including youth and women’s groups. In his session, Ps. Anton Kossay emphasized the importance of having a strong foundation in God’s Word as the central basis of all ministry. He asserted that spiritual literacy is not merely about mastering the content of the Bible, but also about the ability to live out and apply God’s Word in everyday life. "A growing congregation is not just one that faithfully attends services, but one that is rooted in the Word. We must make the Bible our map and compass in building a healthy church life according to God's will," said Ps. Anton during the opening session. Meanwhile, Mrs. Ester Yahuli, S.Pd., presented on the role of family and spiritual education in shaping the character of the congregation from an early age. She also encouraged participants to become agents of change in society by living exemplary lives grounded in Gospel values. The seminar was seen as a significant milestone in the ministry journey of GIDI Kolose. Beyond enriching spiritual insight, the event also served to build unity and a shared spirit to serve with greater direction under the guidance of God’s Word. The seminar committee announced that this event will become an annual church program aimed at shaping a theologically mature and consistently service-driven congregation.
